Playing in bonspiels (tournaments) is a great way to get a lot of experience in a hurry.
We typically get to play about an hour per league match, which amounts to 3-5 ends. Playing in a Bonspiel means you will get to play around 6 ends per match. Typically you are guaranteed 3 matches at minimum.
For more information about upcoming bonspiels, check out the local curling clubs near Cache Valley Stone Society.
Usually happens the final weekend of April/first weekend of May. While the Ogden club hosts their own Bonspiel, they also help other clubs make really good curling ice with the Ice Crew.
Another exciting event taking place in Ogden is the LGT Men’s World Curling Championship. The best teams in the world will descend upon Ogden March 28th-April 5th. This is the best opportunity to see world class curlers before the 2034 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
Word on the street is no bonspiel in 2026, but typically occurs the first week of April.
The Oval Curling Club hosts many fun events throughout the year, including Glow in the Dark Curling. You get to Curl in the same venue as the 2002 Speed Skating events and the upcoming 2034 Olympic Speed Skating.
